Mrs Parkes began her career abroad, working as an English teacher in Spain and as a translator for L’Électricité de France. She later continued her teaching career in the UK, sharing her passion for languages with students of all ages. She has taught Spanish and French to a wide range of learners, including in grammar schools and with adult students, adapting her approach to suit different needs and levels.
Throughout her career, Mrs Parkes has focused on making language learning engaging and practical, helping students develop confidence and fluency in real-world contexts. She earned a Spanish qualification from the University of Cantabria and a BA (Hons) degree in Languages and Translation from the University of Surrey.
Outside of her professional life, Mrs Parkes enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, reading, and travelling abroad, where she particularly enjoys helping her children practise their Spanish.
