We see our role as working in partnership with parents to find the right senior school for their child. With a dizzying array of options – boarding or day school, single-sex or co-educational, large or small, urban or rural, near home or further afield, traditional or progressive, academically rigorous or more gentle – we can help parents to narrow down the options. Every school has a different ethos and emphasis and, by combining our knowledge of a child’s ability and their parents’ innate understanding of them, we can together reach a shortlist of senior schools to consider.
We like to start the conversation early – in year 5 – with the first of several meetings between parents and the Deputy Head (Academic). Some parents may have had their child’s name down for a certain school since birth; others may be completely new to the UK senior school system and need help navigating it. Either way, we encourage them to go and visit a range of schools – on personal visits rather than Open Days if possible – to get a real feel for which establishment would be the best fit for their child.
