Yesterday evening, we had the pleasure of hosting our incredible annual Christmas Feast for Years 6 to 9, a beloved tradition that brings the whole school community together to celebrate the festive season. From start to finish, the evening was filled with laughter, cheer, and a wonderful sense of togetherness.
A Warm Welcome in the Great Hall
The festivities kicked off in the Great Hall, where students, teachers, and staff gathered around the roaring fire to enjoy drinks and catch up on recent news. The atmosphere was lively, with lots of Christmas chatter filling the air. A highlight of the evening was hearing about the recent Rugby 7s win by our U13 boys’ team, a fantastic achievement that added an extra spark of joy to the gathering.
As the evening unfolded, the Great Hall became a perfect backdrop for friends old and new to chat, relax, and enjoy the start of a very special night.
Dinner in the Beautifully Decorated FOSM Room
After a time of socialising, we all moved to the beautifully decorated FOSM Room for the main event: the Christmas feast. The room looked spectacular, with twinkling lights and festive touches everywhere, creating the perfect ambience for a holiday gathering.
As everyone settled in, it was time for the traditional cracker pull—accompanied by lots of giggles as the classic jokes were read aloud, some with more success than others! Then, the moment we’d all been waiting for arrived: the Christmas meal. Our incredible catering team, who always go above and beyond, had prepared a feast fit for a king. The delicious spread was served up alongside teachers and boarding staff, ensuring the students were well taken care of. The excitement was palpable as everyone tucked into their plates, enjoying the wonderful food and each other’s company.
After everyone had savoured the delicious meal, the festivities continued with a festive sing-along led by Mrs Holbrook. The air was filled with the sounds of classic Christmas carols, including the “12 Days of Christmas” and the always-popular “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which brought the house down in a rousing rendition. It was a moment of pure holiday spirit, with everyone joining in and creating memories that will last for years to come.
Disco Time in the DHH
With bellies full and voices warm from singing, it was time to head to the DHH for the final part of the evening: the Christmas disco! The dance floor was soon packed as everyone let loose, danced to festive tunes, and truly embraced the joy of the season. The energy was infectious, and it was the perfect way to round off a fantastic evening.

A Heartfelt Thank You
None of this would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of many people, so we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this event such a success:
- Mrs. Holbrook for her impeccable organization, ensuring every detail was perfectly planned.
- Nurse Cathie and all the matrons for their unwavering support throughout the evening.
- Mr. Peak, Mr. Scott, and all the teaching staff for their involvement and enthusiasm.
- The catering team, who truly outdid themselves with a Christmas meal that was both delicious and beautifully presented. The food and service were impeccable, and we are so grateful for their efforts.
To all who helped make the evening such a special occasion, thank you!
This annual Christmas Feast is always a highlight of the year, and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces come together to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. As we reflect on what has been an incredible term, we look forward to the next chapter in the New Year, filled with even more memorable moments.
Wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful Christmas.
