Our Friends of Sandle Manor (FOSM) do a fabulous job organizing events and raising money to help the school provide greater opportunities for the children at Forres Sandle Manor. This year they have very kindly provided a rather large investment into Lego Education.

Spike Prime Lego

Lego has been recognized over many years as a great way for children to have fun. It has only been over the last 40 years through Lego Education that they have started to look at how it can be used within schools, to develop children’s creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Using these skills every day within different school subjects helps children build greater resilience when trying to solve problems. It is with Lego Education that pupils can join these skills together through playful learning.

FOSM

I am pleased to announce that after considerable research and investment by the FOSM, the school has purchased several sets of the Spike Prime to use within the school and after-school clubs for the prep years and Spike Prime Essentials for Pre Prep. The vision is to develop a hands-on learning approach to grow STEM subjects in both genders and develop the following key skills.

  • Collaboration
  • Communication
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Creativity and innovation
