Running Together, Miles Apart: Our Mini Marathon at Forres Sandle Manor for Rwanda
On Friday, 25th April, the school grounds were alive with energy, purpose, and a whole lot of running shoes as children from Pre-Prep to Year 8 took part in a Mini Marathon around our athletics track. This special event wasn’t just about clocking up the miles—it was about building bridges across continents and raising awareness for The Rwanda Appeal, our school’s chosen charity.
Together, our students set off around the field with huge smiles, determination in their stride, and Rwanda in their hearts. The full marathon distance of 26.2 miles may seem like a daunting task, but when broken down into laps—approximately 142 circuits around our athletics track—it became a shared challenge that everyone could be a part of.
What made this event even more meaningful was knowing that children in Rwanda would be joining us in spirit, participating in a solidarity event of their own. Due to a lengthy national mourning period, their activity may not take the form of a traditional run, but their presence and purpose will match ours in every way. As Anne kindly shared, photos from their day will soon be with us, giving us a beautiful glimpse into their world and the connection we’ve helped nurture.
Through every lap run and every cheer of encouragement, we’ve raised not just funds, but awareness, reminding our community that even the smallest steps can lead to big changes when taken together.

Mr McEwan Conquers the London Marathon!
What an achievement! Huge congratulations to Mr McEwan, who completed the iconic London Marathon with a fantastic time of 4 hours, 59 minutes, and 20 seconds.
The day brought with it blazing sunshine and soaring temperatures, making the challenge even tougher — but that didn’t stop him! Despite the intense heat, Mr McEwan powered through all 26.2 miles with determination, grit, and a smile on his face (most of the time!).
An amazing effort and a real inspiration to us all. Well done, Mr. McEwan — we’re incredibly proud!
