The Living Rainforest

Our Year 8 and 9 students recently embarked on an exciting combined Biology and Geography trip to The Living Rainforest in Thatcham, where they had the chance to dive deep into the fascinating world of plant and animal adaptations. 🌱🦎

The students were treated to an up-close look at a variety of incredible species. They spotted Cinnamon, the Two-toed sloth, observed Pygmy marmosets, and marveled at beautiful Epiphytes like orchids. They also encountered Goeldi’s monkeys, a Carpet python, Bromeliads, and the vibrant Channel-billed toucan. And let’s not forget the stunning Poison dart frogs that stole the show!

The trip provided a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to make real-world connections to their curriculum, particularly in understanding the vital role tropical rainforests play in conserving global biodiversity.

It was a memorable experience that reinforced the importance of environmental conservation and the incredible diversity found in the rainforest. A big thank you to everyone who made this adventure possible!
