And They Are Off! The Big House Competition Has Begun.
Excitement is in the air as our Big House Competition kicks off! This Gold Event is one of the highlights of our school year, and it’s already proving to be a fantastic showcase of creativity, teamwork, and school spirit.
This year’s competition is all about pitching for the Olympic Games! Each of our four houses—Broomy, Hasley, Pitswood, and Sloden—have been given the challenge of selecting a country and designing a compelling campaign to host the Olympics.
The children will be involved at every level, from crafting and singing to developing innovative pitches that highlight their chosen country’s unique qualities. The energy in the classrooms is buzzing as students dive into their design work, brainstorm ideas, and create everything from flags and banners to original presentations. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our young learners to explore teamwork, culture, and the global importance of the Olympic Games.
We’ll be updating you throughout the competition with the latest campaign developments, sneak peeks, and plenty of photographs of all the exciting action! Stay tuned as we follow the journeys of Broomy, Hasley, Pitswood, and Sloden, and cheer on their efforts to create the most compelling Olympic campaigns.
Let the games begin!
Throughout the day, it’s been incredible to see the children dive into the task with such creativity and enthusiasm. They’ve truly taken ownership of their Olympic pitch projects, with their choreography coming together beautifully. In addition to their performances, they’re also crafting a culinary experience inspired by their chosen country, which will be presented to the judges.
Throughout The Day
The design work has been a whirlwind of activity, with students putting their imaginations to work on every aspect of the Olympic pitch—from designing stadiums to creating mascots that reflect the spirit of their countries.
To add another layer of challenge, each house took on a sporting assault course throughout the day, testing their physical abilities and teamwork. A huge well done to everyone involved—you really gave it your all, and it showed!

Excitement Builds for the Big House Challenge: A Taste of the Olympics!
It’s been a whirlwind of activity in our houses as everyone prepares for the Big House Challenge. The energy and enthusiasm have been contagious as each team gets to work on their presentations to pitch for the Olympic Games.
A key part of the pitch is showcasing the culture of their selected country, and what better way to do that than through food? The children have been hard at work preparing a local dish from their country to present to the judges. From purchasing ingredients to planning the perfect recipe, there’s been a lot of thought and effort going into every step.
In addition to cooking up a storm, the children have been practicing their country’s national anthem. Some of the tunes have proven tricky, but they’ve embraced the challenge and are doing an incredible job. It’s a rewarding experience as they not only learn the lyrics but also dive deeper into the cultural significance behind them.
We wish all the teams the best of luck as they continue working on their pitches. The dedication and hard work everyone has shown so far is truly impressive!
Good luck to all—let the games begin!
