World Book Day 2025!
What a magical day it was for everyone involved in World Book Day 2025! From the beginning, it was clear that this year’s celebrations would be fabulous.
A Spectacular Start: The World Book Day Parade
We kicked off the festivities with a spectacular World Book Day Parade, where pupils and staff alike had the chance to step into the pages of their favorite stories. The costumes were absolutely fabulous! From whimsical fairytale characters to iconic literary figures, it was a sight to behold. Teachers joined in the fun, showcasing their own characters and making the event even more memorable for the children. There was a sense of unity in the school as we all came together to celebrate the joy of books and the imagination they inspire.
The parade was held on our DHH, and the weather, though misty, only added to the magic of the event. It was like walking through a dream world, where stories from different genres and eras collided in one spectacular display. Parents were invited to watch, which made the event even more special as they cheered for their little ones and marveled at the creativity on show.
The mist gave the whole parade an almost otherworldly feel, making it seem as though we had all been transported into the pages of our favorite books. It was a truly magical way to start the day and set the tone for everything that followed.
A Special Literary Workshop with Author Sally Marsh
For our Prep children, the excitement didn’t stop with the parade. They had a fantastic opportunity to take part in a workshop hosted by the incredibly talented visiting author, Sally Marsh.
Her workshop, titled “Writing and Telling Stories,” was a hit with the children. Sally spoke about the art of storytelling, and how to bring stories to life. The children were captivated by her insights and enthusiasm for writing. The workshop was interactive, with Sally encouraging the students to get creative and think about how they could write their own stories.
Celebrating the Power of Books
World Book Day 2025 was truly an event to remember. From the parade to the workshop, the day was filled with laughter, learning, and an overwhelming sense of joy. It reminded us all of the power of books to transport us to new worlds, ignite our imaginations, and spark our creativity.
Word Book Day – Seniors Explore the Wonders of Patagonia
We were thrilled to welcome Rupert Atlee, Sandroyd teacher and author, who captivated our seniors with tales from his debut children’s book, “Lost at the End of the World.” Inspired by Rupert’s real-life adventure and survival experience in Patagonia, this gripping story took our students on an unforgettable journey.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this day so magical and inspiring—from our incredible pupils to our talented authors and staff. Here’s to celebrating the power of books and imagination every day!
