It was fantastic to hear the latest skiing about our superstar skier Samuel in Year 6.

Writing to us, his Father said:

Samuel has competed in the Eola GBR  Outdoor National Series since April with 2 races in Llandudno Wales, 1 race in Hillend Scotland and the last 2 races in Chatham Kent for the English races.  Having already achieved 2 x 2nd Silver medals in Wales, a 1st Gold medal in Scotland he was first place in the U12 Boys and overall in the combined U10/U12s.

At Chatham on Saturday (after his FSM week away with year 6 in Bruton), Samuel got to wear the GBR Series Leader Red Bib and he didn’t disappoint with a very quick first run to secure 1st place for the U12 boys and overall fastest mini at Chatham, a good job really as he put the ‘Hammer Down’ for the 2nd run and skied out.
At the Sunday Eola GBR  Final Race at Chatham for Race 5 a similar occurrence of a first fast run and then a ski out DNF to secure 1st U12 and overall fastest mini.  With his coach watching both races, she expertly diagnosed that his Dynastar 135cm skis were flexing too much and he would lose his outside ski when ‘going for it’ on the 2nd runs! Oh well, another 3 sets of skis grown out of in a year!  The new stiffer Atomics with base plate and 138cm long, are waiting for him for the next race.

This weekend’s performance resulted in Samuel achieving the overall Eola GBR  Series Winner for the U10/U12 Boys with the Trophy, plus the U12 Boys winner.  He celebrated with all his great teammates from both Precise Racing and Aldershot Ski Race Club (his points contributed to Aldershot winning the Club Trophy as well).  A very proud day for all.
