Dartmoor Field Trip Guess Who

For a bit of fun, our Head of geography Mr Humphries has organised a game of ‘Guess Who’ for pupils.

It’s a simple game that any pupil can take part in where you have to identify who the Year 8s are taking part in activities from these relatively obscure photographs during their Dartmoor Field Trip.

The Year 8 Geography field trip on Dartmoor is off to a brilliant start.

Dartmoor – Day 1

After our drive to Devon, we hammered down some lunch before taking part in the raft-building activity, where the children literally threw themselves into it. There were plenty of smiles, and you probably heard their shrieks of joy back at FSM. In the evening, the centre staff laid on the activities where the children went on the archery range and scaled the dizzy heights on the climbing walls.

After a delicious dinner of pasta bolognaise, with apple crumble & custard for pudding, Y8s enjoyed some archery, followed by taking on the climbing wall. It’s been a busy day!

Tomorrow (Tuesday), the Geography day so bundles of excitement tonight!!!

Dartmoor – Day 2

Today was all about the Geography, so the mood in the camp matched the weather… Beautiful!!!

After a full English breakfast, we headed to Postbridge in the heart of Dartmoor. We collected data from the East Dart and had fun in the river.
On returning to the centre, we continued our studies before spending the evening tackling team challenges and the low ropes course.

Dartmoor – Day 3

Dartmoor Geography Field Trip

A cycle ride along the Granite Trail, followed by gorge scrambling, a cliff climb, abseiling back down, & a cycle ride back to Adventure Okehampton before heading back to the Manor. A busy day to round off a jam-packed 3-day Geography Adventure with our Y8s. A HUGE thanks to Mr Humphreys for all the organising!!
