Reception have been following the children’s recent interests in penguins.
Polar Exploration
They have been investigating changing states and finding out what happens to ice if it is left in the class to warm. We have discussed vocabulary such as solid and liquid.
Following on from this, the children have loved pretending to be polar explorers, writing lists of the equipment they need and making sure that they have plenty of layers to provide insulation against the elements.
We will be investigating the concept of insulation a little later in the week.
