We are excited and proud to announce that Forres Sandle Manor School have formed a sports partnership with Fordingbridge Rugby Club.

This will see the club training pupils from the school and community together at both facilities at Forres Sandle Manor and the town’s rugby ground.

The club, who already have players from the school, see the partnership as a natural progression, where they work with schools across the area to highlight the physical and mental benefits of the sport.

Opportunity to have a taster and see what Rugby is about

Mr Ed Murphy, Minis Chair at Fordingbridge Rugby Club, said:

One of the things for us is giving the kids the opportunity to have a taster and see what Rugby is about. A chance to see what a great fun, active sport it is… A big focus for the club is around positivity around attitude around inclusivity. One of the great things about Rugby is that it takes all sorts of people to make a good successful team.

Here Ed talks to us about the partnership.

Headmaster Mr Mike Stanley said:

This is the start of a great Community Rugby partnership. It was lovely to welcome so many parents and children to our beautiful school and see so many boys and girls playing Rugby and enjoying the great outdoors in the New Forest.

The first rugby session took place at the school on 14th November, Remembrance Sunday, with players, and spectators observing the 2-minute silence.

We would also like to thank Scout and Hunter Caterers for food and coffees and Holroyd Howe for the players’ refreshments.
