On Thursday afternoon, 20 children from Year 3 to Year 8 took part in our annual ‘Battle of the Drummers’. It was fantastic to hear the drummers performing such a wide range of pieces and playing along to backing tracks. There were drummers taking part who only started in September and others in Year 8 who were performing in this event for the final time. We are incredibly lucky to have the brilliant Mr Hilton-King teaching our drummers and he expertly guided the audience through the programme, supporting and encouraging every drummer and demonstrating his wonderful rapport with his pupils.
Congratulations to Henry T, winner of the drum shield for the second year in a row. A worthy recipient indeed following his excellent performance of the Grade 5 piece ‘Here Comes the Sun’.
