On Thursday I had the pleasure of taking five of FSM’s brass and woodwind pupils over to King Edward V1 School in Southampton for an orchestral day, coached by the London Mozart Players.  They combined with a number of other prep schools and local primary schools, in addition to musicians from King Edward’s, with 140 children taking to the stage for the afternoon concert.  Breaking away into sectional rehearsals in the morning before forming an orchestra later on, the children listened and took on board the wise words of wisdom and practical tips offered by members of the London Mozart Players and to see our pupils sitting alongside these professional musicians in the performance was a real treat.  It was also wonderful to hear the London Mozart Players perform by themselves in the concert as well.  The children worked really hard all day and were a real credit to FSM.  Thank you to KES for a wonderful opportunity and, of course, to the London Mozart Players.
